The Front End Servers within a site monitor the operational status of every Back End Server. If a Back End Server fails, the failure is detected and Front Ends immediately re-direct client requests to other Back End Servers running the same application. Thus, Eddie provides seamless continuity of service in the event of failures.

If a Front End Server fails, the failure is again automatically detected and the IP address of the failed unit migrates to another Front End.
